Description
Buck 417 Budgie Green
Features:
The 417 Budgie Knife
It started as a spin-off of a past Buck Model, the 418 Vertex. It is designed for an EDC, or everyday carry, knife user who wants a premium knife (materials, blade steel) in a small, unobtrusive, light weight package that is not intimidating.
It fits into offices, hiking packs, and any where else people may be uncomfortable around a bigger, “scarier” knife. Its perfect for all your everyday tasks.S35VN Steel
This premium-powdered steel has the same edge retention as S30V but with properties that allow it to resharpen easier.
This steel has a Rockwell hardness of Rc 59-61.
Drop Point Blade
This blade is full bellied with a strong, thick point for heavier tasks. The top of the blade drops down toward the tip, which minimizes accidental punctures. The drop point blade is strong and versatile.
Thumbhole
The thumbhole allows for easy one hand opening and helps shave off weight on this lightweight knife.
G10 Handle
An almost indestructible resin laminate that is resistant to heat, cold, chemicals, impact, and other abuse.
These tough, durable qualities make G10 well suited for a knife that will get well used in extreme environments.
Machined Grip
Machined grip features on the lock arm provide traction when unlocking the knife.
Lanyard Spacer
This is the point of attachment for a lanyard. It also provides a little extra to hold for people with big hands.
Frame Lock
A frame lock functions like a liner lock, but the locking mechanism is a section of the handle frame on the side of the knife. The frame lock is a channeled lock arm that moves inward to lock against the blade when the knife is opened.
Pushing outward releases it from its locked position so the user can close the blade. Benefits are fewer moving parts and lighter weight.
Removable Clip
This removable stainless steel pocket clip is designed to fit nicely in a coin pocket on your jeans.
