Description
Sabatti ST-18
Note: Optic not included
The new ST-18 is the result of a cooperation between Sabatti and the renowned BCM, the world leader in producing competition rifles.
The two companies joined forces to design a brand new action with competition and tactical applications in mind. In other words, the action of an ST-18 is not a hunting action adapted to sports, which is almost always the case with plenty of other products on the market today; it is a dedicated competition and tactical action hence much more accurate, durable and resistant than an action designed for hunters.
Sabatti has carefully studied the frame/chassis fit. In order to avoid unnecessary fitting tensions and stresses, Sabatti has introduced a new, revolutionary fitting system where the frame and chassis do not touch each other. Still, they are connected through a V-shaped piece that works as a recoil lug. The action floats on the chassis, thus eliminating all possible tensions. In order to further improve reliability and safety, Sabatti has introduced a new guillotine-type extraction system where the shell bottom is always supported.
When the bolt is closed, the extractor cannot move backwards when the bottom of the case expands under the effect of pressure. This greatly improves safety. This new action minimizes (although it cannot entirely eliminate) the damages that can be caused by shooting ammunition at uncontrolled pressures.
Second-to-none MRR rifle barrels, designed by Sabatti Provide
All the Sabatti barrels will always, constantly return sub-MOA groups at 100 meters: it’s granted. But giving such a guarantee at even higher ranges with commercial loads isn’t as easy as it sounds.
Sabatti MRR rifling is particularly well apt to be obtained by cold hammer forging – a manufacturing process used for superior quality barrels. This process allows Sabatti to obtain tighter tolerances, resulting in higher average muzzle velocity levels and tighter groups on target if compared with standard rifling patterns.
Sabatti MRR barrels also drastically reduce the number of flyers on target and are less prone to copper residue build-up, making maintenance easier.
Sabatti MRR barrels push the concept of “shooting accuracy” well beyond the standards we all were used to.
